Calgary Newborn Photography

Newborns are quickly becoming such an integral part of the work that Suzanne Taylor Photography is hired for between Red Deer, AB and Calgary, AB.  I have photographed more newborns in the last year than I did previously in the first 9 years of business.  I went from photographing 3-5 newborn sessions a year to being completely booked with newborn fine art sessions for complete months of the year.  Thankfully, I have wonderful customers that hire me time after time to come back into their homes with my portable studio and create not only pictures, but art that will be loved and cherished for generations to come.  Calgary newborn photography is one of my favorite subjects to shoot and I am so excited and proud that my newborns style is making an impact and is a beautiful shift from the superposed style that has dominated the newborn photography market over the last several years.  It is time for ‘something new’ and Suzanne Taylor Photography is really happy to provide this unique way to capture your newborn (or multiple newborns) when they are born.

The Wood Family – Calgary Twin Photography

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful brand new set of twins in Calgary, Alberta.  The Wood Family had two of the sweetest little babies I have come across in a long time.  To be honest though, both Mom and Dad are fabulously lovely people as well.  They invited me into their home for an afternoon and while we took the most gorgeous images of their babies, made me feel completely at ease.  Both Mom and Dad Wood are total naturals and I knew these babies were loved and cherished.

Multiple Newborn Photography Sessions.

Multiple newborn sessions are becoming the new normal for me, and I love it.  If you don’t know, I have a 6.5 year old son and 4 year old Girl-Boy-Girl triplets, so handling a bunch of babies at one time is something that I am fairly used to.  I love being able to play each baby off each other and have the opportunity to post them together.  On the plus side as well there become the opportunity to photograph each baby separately so you get two amazing sessions in one.  Photographing multiples is truly one of the best ways to capture Calgary newborn photography.

A Little Note About Safety.

I always like to close a blog post with just a small thank you to the parents who entrust their babies to Suzanne Taylor Photography and opt to not only hire a professional photographer to capture their newborn baby(ies), but to enlist the services of a trained and highly experienced professional – both in front of and behind the camera.  The careful nature of how Suzanne Taylor Photography poses newborns is to reflect how they would have been in the womb.  I prefer curled up and comfortable rather than squished into different props and posed sometimes dangerously considering blood flow and how some photographers try to ‘balance’ babies to get the right look.  I am happy to keep newborns looking like beautiful babies, without all the fuss and muss of props and backgrounds.  Safety and a timeless image is what Suzanne Taylor Photography strives for in all of her Calgary newborn photography sessions.
