The Scott Family captured by Calgary Family Photographer – Suzanne Taylor Photography
Calgary family photographer, Suzanne Taylor had the utmost privilege a few weeks back and photograph the beautiful Scott family. This family was so much fun because when we took the pictures, I knew a big secret that not too many other people knew. This sweet little girl was going to be a Big Sister and both Mom and Dad wanted to capture this time when their sweet little angel was still the only child and also getting ready to embrace a new life into their family. This created a perfect setting for such an enthusiastic family to have magic captured forever.
Late Summer in Calgary
Shooting any session in the late summer months (August and onwards) is such a beautiful time of year to shoot in Alberta. As a Calgary family photographer, I have photographed many families through the course of the summer months – and well into the fall – this year I am actually still photographing families as today it was 21 degrees Celsius in Central Alberta and booked now until mid November, which has been simply glorious this year. The Autumn light is what made this session so very beautiful though and that light is very charicteristic of fall in Alberta. This light is a sheer treat that only a few families get to be photographed with each year and the Scott Family was one of the lucky ones.
Daddy’s Little Girl
So here is a fact that any Calgary family photographer will tell you. Often it is the Dad that will make the shoot more difficult for everyone if they are not feeling the photo shoot. I would say that only about 5-10% of my ‘dad’s’ that I photograph make the shoot difficult, but a huge percentage don’t often get excited about having their picture taken. I think that is sad – but that is a blog post for another day (familial history not being captured). This Daddy however was the perfect Dad to photograph. He was engaged, had no end of love for the two most important people in his life and had no problem expressing that love. Mom and Dad have a beautiful chemistry together and when the little firecracker was added to the mix there was no end of smiles, laugh and the most adorable of expressions between the three of them.
The most perfect little girl
I needed to also touch on this little muffin as well from my experience with her during this Calgary family photography session. This little girl was such a beautiful light and is clearly the most loved child ever – really. She was so bubbly and so eager to please everyone. I let children be when I photograph them and most of the time they come around and I didn’t have to wait one second with her. I asked her to twirl and she did. I asked for a smile – she gave me one. She was really a Calgary family photography dream and I enjoyed photographing her so much.
Being a Calgary family photographer is a job that I love and embrace every chance I get. I was born and raised in Calgary and the chance to photograph anyone in the City always ignites my passion and creativity for photography. I want to thank the Scott family for not only booking Suzanne Taylor Photography, but also for trusting me to create beautiful and lasting memories for your family to be loved now and cherished as they become heirloom images as the years go on.
