A Beautiful Calgary Wedding
As I consider how to pen likely one of my final wedding posts (please see this post if you haven’t seen the blog post yet), I had to reflect on how I wrapped up (at least for now) one of my founding disciplines of my photography business. I started shooting weddings so many years ago – and have captured so many amazing couples over the past several years. That sounds a little cliche, however its true and I am so excited that my very last customers were a couple who booked me simply because they loved my style. Sheri really wanted to book my company because she believed in my vision of what love looks like – whether it is as couples in love, children running through fields or a beautiful newborn resting peacefully on a pure white linen. This Calgary wedding was a wonderful and beautiful union of people and heart at Fish Creek Park at The Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant.
Passion
Passion is such a thrown around term when we talk about couples. Everyone has something to say about passion and if you search Calgary Wedding blogs you will see the term come up often – I am positive about that. True passion happens though, and while I don’t feel that it should be at the top of every blog post describing couples that it doesn’t really fit, it did in this case. This couple is so wonderful with each other…they are the kind of people who literally make the people around them happy…just by looking into each other’s eyes. It can only make you smile when you see two people, so madly in love that it rubs off on you and makes you feel so warm and happy.
The Funnest Calgary Wedding
Sometimes you are allowed to get VERY excited when you hear the plans a bride has for a wedding. Sheri from the first moment we spoke was bound and determined to have a magical wedding. There were talks of many amazing things (including hot air balloons) but both Sheri and Andrew elected to go with giant round balloons as well as a very magical butterfly release. The balloons were by far one of Sheri’s favourite parts of the day – she had a ‘perma-smile’ on her face all day – not only because she just got married to her prince charming, but because the day was decorated and performed without a hitch. After dragging the balloons through the forest I wasn’t sure what all would have been left of them by the reception, but they hung in there and all of the painted-lady butterflies flew off into the wild as they were supposed to right at the end of the ceremony.
Sheri and Andrew held back one special little guy to do some images but he was VERY ready to go, so we captured him under the netting of Sheri’s dress and we captured three beautiful images of him tasting the air, looking around and flying away to hopefully find that special lady butterfly to unite with before fall.
A thankful moment
I would like to thank Sheri and Andrew for having me at their event – not just a wedding. Two families came together to become one and I was so honoured to be chosen to be the principle photographer for this Calgary Wedding. It was a beautiful event and so well executed – it was a lovely way to wrap up the art of capturing weddings for my business and a memory I will never forget.
May your days be sunny and you always feel the love I captured on camera on this special day.
