A Great Example of Blackfalds Photography – The Morton Family Session
Right off the bat, I have to give credit to the Mom who booked me for this Blackfalds photography session back in the early fall. I have known Mom (Jamie) for so many years now – I am guessing 12 or 13? We knew each other a lifetime ago when we both lived in Athabasca, AB and were not married yet. We both ended up leaving Athabasca and went our separate ways as most friendships end up – parting ways. My husband was transferred within his company and that was when we moved near Red Deer, Alberta. Jamie ended up meeting someone and moved all the way to Calgary and for years we did not speak to each other or visit – mostly because again…life was happening.
Flash forward a few years later and I get an email from her a little while after connecting again on Facebook and she was in the market for some photography. Now – I get inquiries at least weekly if not daily and statistically you should book at least 1/9 of them – so I didn’t think much about it when I didn’t hear back because to be honest I thought Jamie was still in Calgary and figured I would hear back when the time was right. To my surprise though, I heard back from her and discovered she was in Blackfalds, AB – a whopping 20 minutes from where I live. I was super excited and was so honored for her to book me for a session with her and her daughter and thus commenced her Blackfalds photography session.
Children and the Blackfalds Photography Session
So – what else happened in the few years we did not see or hear from each other? We both had children – though I outshined her on that platform with my four to her one. Oh man – I can hear her laughing as I write that statement. When we met for her session I finally got to meet this beautiful child that looks so much like her beautiful Mom in the few pictures I had seen. Long blond hair (that she has since cut off to donate to make wigs for cancer patients), bright sparkling eyes and a sassy, perky attitude to boot! She was a perfect child to photograph and she was so much fun to spend an hour with during their Blackfalds photography session. She has so much personality and doesn’t hesitate for it to shine through.
I had so much fun capturing your Blackfalds photography session Jamie. Your daughter is beautiful and you are as gorgous as ever. The light, the day, the smiles and the moments were all perfect for your session and it was wonderful to catch up and share these moments with you.
