Calgary Newborn Babies are BEAUTIFUL!!!

My newest Calgary newborn session happened actually a few sessions ago…actually I think there was still snow on the ground when I travelled to Calgary to capture this sweet little man’s newborn session.  Now this session was rather special because this little guy was quite the surprise for Mom and Dad, whom I have known personally now for around 2-2.5 years.  We met through the multiples group that I used to work with because their first two firecrackers they had were fraternal twins that I photographed two summers ago in Calgary during some of my most favourite mini sessions.

Now, this beautiful Mama is also a photographer who specializes in ballroom dance and sport (go see her work here) and she has always been a great friend over the last few years.  When my sweet little Calgary newborn was born, I asked if I could come photograph him – mostly because in the last year (if you haven’t noticed) I have been photographing a LOT more newborns.  Actually, I have photographed more newborns in the last year then I think I did the three previous years combined.  They are a LOT of work as my studio is portable and I haul everything with me to capture your newborn in your own ‘nest’ sort to speak.  The art of the travelling newborn photographer is a dying breed – mostly because it is so much work to do, but there are benefits to coming to your home and photographing people in their own space creates a calm that you rarely feel in the studio.  You can look calm, but feeling calm creates a whole new look.

Spiderman…did someone say Spiderman?

I think it is also important to note about this Calgary newborn session that Dad is a HUGE Spiderman freak.  Literally.  I stress the freak part…(LOL – I am just kidding Michael).  Daddy LOVES that handy dandy superhero that slings webs and fights evil.  Really – what isn’t to love?  If you are going to have a vice in this world, I think a superhero is a great little obsession.

While shooting, I wondered if we could get some shots with ‘Spiderman” in it and Dad was more then happy to oblige.  What we captured was so much fun and the three adults in the room shared a bunch of laughs and maybe even a few tears as we posed this sweet Calgary newborn with all of his Daddy’s favourite characters.  It was so much fun and definitely unforgettable and this sweet little darling slept the whole afternoon away….what a dream baby.

Thank you so much to both Mom and Dad for letting me come and visit your sweet baby in Calgary several months ago.  It was so much fun spending the afternoon with you all and capturing some very precious memories…let’s do it again soon! (have another baby for goodness sakes…).
