Family Photography Award from the NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photography) goes to Suzanne Taylor Photography of Central Alberta.
HOT OFF THE PRESSES!!!
I was notified this AM from the NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photographers) that I won the July 2016 NAPCP Photo Competition in the category of “Family Photography”. This was a fairly big deal because the Family category is one of those categories that often have a lot of entries, as well they are pivotal to successful Baby and Child Photography. It is also a category that I have never won an award in at all before today so that made it extra special and quite pivotal for today.
It’s always an amazing feeling to win a new category and to have a family photography award under my belt is really something else.
The Image
The image that I received the family photography award for was captured this early summer in and around the Central Alberta area. Myself and Kathryn (that beautiful Mommy) spent a fair amount of time planning this shoot to make sure that was executed correctly from wardrobe, to timing to vision. We BOTH wanted an amazing image out of this shoot and I think it is fair to say that we both got what we were looking for. She has a beautiful “Earth Mama” image that captures not only her love and the love of her children and I created a work of art that was judged and appreciated enough to win a family photography award.
I really want to send a huge thank you to the NAPCP for the nod from this voting cycle and the selection of the image. I completely understand the undertaking that judging photography is and how many images are submitted each round. It is a lot of work to go through and select winners and to be one of them is simply electric.
I also really want to thank Kathryn (that beautiful Mama) again for her time and dedication to this shoot. From family clothing, to make up, to the travel from Calgary, AB to come see me in my element where I live – all of it came together to create this award winning image. Without customers like you who not only have a vision but also commit 100% to the process, family photographers can have a harder time creating the magic that was captured in this image.
Lastly I want to send a shout out to Stems Floral in Red Deer who created the Floral Halo’s for the shoot. The quiet elegance of a floral creation can speak volumes.
