Lacombe Photographer Visit’s Sweet Capone’s Italian Bakery
I have had a hard time thinking about how to start off this delicious and really exciting Lacombe photographer blog post from this week. Not long ago, my triplets turned four and a half years old and I always commemorated these age milestones because they seem to go by so fast. Any parent of young children can appreciate that it seems like before you know it they have grown from that darling little baby that cooed and smiled in your arms to that walking toddler to children walking out the door each morning off to school – whether it is in Lacombe, Red Deer, Calgary or anywhere you may live.
Celebrating Half-Birthday’s in Style
Celebrating the sheer fact you have been alive for 4.5 years means nothing to these kids what so ever. Do you celebrate being alive for X.5 years every year? Probably not…I know October 1st goes by each year without a second thought that it is my half way mark through the year. When you are a triplet though, your life isn’t as normal as other kids lives are and things are different. For us, I celebrate the little milestones each year many times because it’s important to me. Perhaps we would celebrate our ‘half way’ birthdays if the people around us thought it was important to do so. We don’t need candles or presents…just some spiffy clothes, some delicious desserts from Sweet Capone’s and a great Lacombe photographer to capture every tasty moment.
The Most Delicious Treats at Sweet Capone’s in Lacombe, Alberta
I have been a professional photographer for almost 11 years now. In that time I have shot all over Canada, but this was the first shoot I had done as a Lacombe Photographer. I live not too far away in Central Alberta and when the opportunity to shoot in this magical bakery and coffee shop came up earlier this week, I knew I had to jump on it immediately. The staff at Sweet Capone’s are wonderful and were so accommodating to this Lacombe photographers whims – because it’s not every day someone brings three 4.5-year-old children into your business asking if you can use their space to capture some pictures of them. The staff smiled and welcomed the idea while I stuffed my face full of those beautiful Pesche Dolci desserts. Any pastry that is created to look like a peach – right down the coloring deserved to be showcased by itself in my opinion. A “cookie cake” that has custard filling and rolled in sugar…perfection. As a photographer, there was no question that this face had to be captured because this is genuine folks. No question about the happiness my smallest boy was feeling at that exact moment.
Why stop at one dessert?
If you are going to get new outfits for your children, get them dressed up with their hair and shoes and bring them all the way to an authentic and DELICIOUS Italian Bakery, why on earth would you think they should be done with just one beautiful and scrumptious dessert? The next thing I photographed them enjoying was their famous Tiramisu Cannoli. I should also mention that these three REALLY love chocolate and these did not disappoint. As a photographer, this was one of the best moments I have ever shot when you think about what is really important in a photograph.
Despite having one little muffin who needed to eat her Tiramisu Cannoli with a fork (because we don’t like dirty hands don’t you know) the three of them dug in like they hadn’t eaten in a week. I would like to remind you dear reader that literally five minutes before they each had one of those scrumptious Pesche Dolci desserts.
Clearly, they were still hungry.
It took about three minutes for these darlings to polish off what they were going to Sweet Capone’s desserts and this Lacombe photographer took every picture she could to document this ‘epic’ session for them. I had never taken them to do this style of a session before and they were so excited – but by the end, all complained of tummy aches and being too full. I know – you’re feeling the pity right now hey? Look at these pictures though and tell me that you wish they were them…their faces made the whole photoshoot extremely worthwhile.
The last food note I wanted to make about Sweet Capone’s as a Lacombe photographer who spent a good hour photographing the beautiful desserts and sugary lips that were abundant that morning was about the Italian Sodas. I love Italian Soda’s and I was so excited to buy one for each of my children during that photography shoot. The girls adored watching the syrup in the water mix with the seltzer and ice and thought the Strawberry flavoring was pretty delicious as well.
A Huge Thank You!
Allowing Lacombe photographer, Suzanne Taylor Photography to come into your business and photograph three children mowing down your goods can take a small amount of courage. I am not the type of parent who would allow them to go wild – nor are they the children to do that. They have manners and I felt they did an amazing job during that photography shoot. I wanted to personally write a huge thank you to Sweet Capone’s and the staff for welcoming me into their ‘home’ and not once seemed annoyed I was there. Granted we were just average customers…they just had to deal with Suzanne Taylor Photography moving and bouncing around the shop for a bit to get everything I wanted to remember this very important milestone.
Warmly,
Suzie
