Red Deer Portrait Photography – Sarver Family Session
No matter how many times I blog in a year, I usually start off thinking that the session I am typing about is the best session I have ever done. Every Red Deer portrait session I complete has such a magical feel to it and I am not saying that to be hokey – really. I am honest and inspired by every session I shoot and this one was no different at all because the power of ‘clicking’ was on full power the day I met the Sarver family.
The clicking factor (as I like to refer to it) is so important because 90% of the time I book sessions online, over the internet which I know is a huge no-no but with children who literally ‘wait’ for me to get on the phone to start acting like total jerks (I love them – I just hate when they foil business calls) you just don’t get a feel for people. I have a questionnaire that each person fills out that books me, so by reading their answers I can usually pick up a few clues as to their personality and energy level but at the end of the day it is still a crapshoot and you won’t know if the people like you or vice versa until you meet face to face and begin to shoot.
Phew!
So when I got to finally meet the Sarver family I was so happy. Really. This group of folks are hilarious and very kind so right away I knew I could be myself around them without fear of me insulting them or making them wish they had actually hired someone else. This may read kind of funny, but the best photographs I do come from the sessions where I can just be myself. I don’t think that is a unique situation – we all excel when we are accepted and allowed to do our jobs – much like I was excited to complete this Red Deer portrait session.
So – this family had everything that I love when it comes to a Red Deer portrait session. They had the looks (come on – all four of them are gorgeous), they had the personalities, they had one ADORABLE kid and one ADORABLE baby and most importantly, they were all really excited about getting their pictures done. That makes such a difference when both parents are on board and really excited to make some memories that the family will love and cherish forever because frankly these guys oozed love.
I just wanted to say thank you to this wonderful clan – because they really were the very best customers and I felt very lucky to be able to capture so many different aspects of their family during their session. I captured joy, humor, love, passion, fun and beauty during their Red Deer portrait session and to be honest, I can’t imagine how we could have improved it.
Thank you Sarah and Dale for inviting me into your life and capturing these moments for you. I hope you love them forever.
