Photography Burn Out is real. The journey of Unpopular started about a year ago when I became bored with my personal work. I have been shooting my children pretty much non-stop for the past 5.5 years and I have literally thousands of images of them. The styles range from professional portraiture, to documentary photography, to…
Karen Arneson- Fischer - I think if you invoke a strong reaction to your art, negative or positive, as an artist you have done a GREAT job
Larissa Clark - Art is synonymous with emotion. So you are successful! And I find it a sadder image and it’s important for people to remember that life isn’t all rainbows- we don’t only post happy pictures or else we give this ugly false happy image. That’s not real life and that is disturbing! Job well done- keep on pressing on!
Lindsay Seber - Personally, i believe this is an amazing piece. It invokes a lot of emotions in me. Happy and sad. Honestly, it’s one of my top three of al your photos. It’s raw. It’s real.
Karena Dyck - I think any great art can illicit a spectrum of emotion and debate. You’ve accomplished this with this image and although it may hurt to receive some of the responses, I think you can view this as a success. Well done!
Jo Guihot - Beautifully written Suzanne. I think it’s a beautiful work of art. Good art always challenges the viewer.
Jenna Kozan - I think it is beautiful, simple, and raw. I am a photographer and social worker too. I don’t think every image needs to be happy and all dressed up. You art is about you and your vision.
P.s. I hope my daughter will let me “pay” her soon. As of now she just says “no”when I pull out my camera or phone lol.
