The 2016 Rock Your Bump Show

It was a long time ago that I told a good photography friend of mine that I would likely never do newborn photography as far as a career direction.  I have watched so many friends over the years move towards newborn photography and leave behind what they did because they were completely in love with the beautiful, posed and gorgeous images that have become so mainstream the last few years.  I have always loved looking at those images and knowing the skill, love and time the artists have put into perfecting their craft.

Kudos to them.

I love the end result of professionally posed images – images can be amazing.  Anne Geddes showed us that back in the 1990’s that babies in pots and baskets and on top of giant mushrooms can be done beautifully – but I will be honest.  The idea of creating those images never really had me all that excited and that is why I never felt I would make it as a newborn photographer.  I have never embraced the terribly pretty and refined side of photography – don’t get me wrong though…the technical aspect of the shot is EXCEPTIONALLY important to me, however I have always enjoyed more dramatic images and I always look to have a bit of an edge to my art that I create.  It could never be my style to make ‘cutesy’ work (and I mean no disrespect by that) – I just needed to find my own style to do newborn photography.

Rock Your Bump 2016

I had the opportunity this fall to participate in the 2016 Fall Rock Your Bump show in Red Deer at the Black Knight Inn on October 15 between 10 and 4pm.  This is a FANTASTIC opportunity to come and see a ton of vendors who specialize SPECIFICALLY in what you need as an expectant mother or father or any other relation you have to a newborn getting ready to enter the world.  At this show you will also have the opportunity to have a very special portrait taken by Suzanne Taylor Photography.

The Suzanne Taylor Photography Love Within Portrait Series

During the 2016 Rock Your Bump show, Suzanne Taylor Photography will be doing ON LOCATION portraits RIGHT AT THE ROCK YOUR BUMP trade show with an amazing – AMAZING – floral back drop that has been featured in Canadian Living Magazine.  Portraits will be taken on a first come – first serve basis and you can have the opportunity to have your image taken by yourself, with your baby (babies), partner, best friend or whoever you want to join you for your moment in the spotlight.  All images will require a release to be signed prior to images being taken and returned to you.

The Love Within Portrait Series is a series that I am very excited about and I am so excited to embrace the full Beauty of Maternity that these sessions will provide.  It will be a full on celebration of beauty, maternity and the glow that only a child within can create!  Come join us and celebrate your love – both within and outward.

Images will be $20 with tax included and will be delivered via dropbox after a few little tweaks have been made in Photoshop and Lightroom.  A full edit (full photoshop work) will be available for purchase to upgrade if you desire – but it is completely optional.  Images will be delivered via Dropbox where you can download your image for personal use.  Suzanne Taylor Photography will be accepting Cash as well as all major Credit Cards for payment for all portraits taken at the Rock Your Bump 2016 show.
