Ziegler Family Session | Gull Lake, AB | Red Deer Photography
In June I got a chance to meet up with Vicki and her beautiful family at Gull Lake, AB. She has beautiful twin boys and a very lovely husband so the second I saw them all I knew it would going to be beautiful. I LOVE working with multiples – especially toddlers which makes many photographers shake their head at me – but here is why. Toddlers are pure emotion. You can read their faces and body language like a book and it is amazing to see them be the little people that they are with no hesitation. Older children are beautiful for a whole other reason, but if a toddler is happy they will show you – much like the concepts of sad, interested and indifferent.
These boys ran everywhere – excited to see the lake, run and feel the sand in their toes and have Mom and Dad chase them around. Family sessions like this is EXACTLY why I do what I do – to photograph people being themselves and the emotion and joy it exudes just by being themselves. Boy’s being boy’s always makes for beautiful images and memories from such a beautiful day outside.
Those clouds were also to die for. I have never timed a family session as awesome as I did that day with the clouds in full view which created the most amazing backdrop to the images. The full on sun always makes for much brighter images, but you just don’t catch clouds like this so close to the subjects all the time. It was amazing and I am so glad they were extra fluffy for us on the day of their family session.
The best faces from kids always come with Mom and Dad can spin them around and make them feel like the only child in the world. After having my triplets, I realized how special images like this are for children going forward for them in life. It is a full, captured moment that was important enough to invest in with (in this case) just Mom adoring them – more then any other beautiful moment in the world. They feel loved – they see love and they are the collector of love. No one else is important in this picture above in the moment – only Mother and Son.
I so appreciated the opportunity to photograph your family Vicki. Thank you very much for travelling up and sharing your family with me during your session. From falling into the lake, to the exploration to everything else we shared that day it was a sincere pleasure.
Much love and respect,
Suzie
