Canada Day Firework Display in Bentley, Alberta

Every since we moved here back in July 0f 2o10, Bentley has two firework shows each year in Town – once for Canada Day and once for the Rodeo (you can see last year’s firework blog here).  Every year it is an amazing show and this year was definitely not a disappointment.

The Beginning of the Show

The show started a little earlier then normal based on the fact that we were all watching a massive rain storm slowly make its way across the south west edge of Town.  We could all see lighting over the Sylvan Lake area and kept our hopes high that we could get through the show prior to the rain beginning.

The first firework that was lit was a lovely start to an amazing spectacle of so much light and beauty.  For the first time ever, I brought my oldest child and he wasn’t really sure what to think about all the color and sound.  He is almost 6 but fairly shy and the proximity to the show for him was a little close – but I snuggled him in tight and we continued watching the beauty of the show together.

A Beautiful Finale

The Canada Day Fireworks show this year was such a beautiful way to wrap up a wonderful day for the Community.  There were events in Downtown Bentley and everyone appeared to have a great time in the area.  It was a time for family to come together and appreciate each other, all while being mindful and thankful of those who have kept our Country safe and free.  We are very fortunate to live in a Country with the freedom we experience here and should appreciate every day for many people do not have access to the freedom and lifestyle we have here.

Now – fireworks are not the easiest to photograph and my experience is rather limited in taking them as I don’t have all the time access to fireworks daily (I can see a move to Disneyland is in order), so please keep that in mind.  These are not the very best technical firework images, but they are here to view and appreciate if you like.  They were taken and posted with pride as I know many people cannot get out to see the fireworks and missed them this year.

Thank you again to the Town of Bentley for the wonderful Canada Day celebration and I can’t wait for the Rodeo fireworks show in a month.
